This class is for those looking to learn the basics of working on the wheel. During your eight weeks you will learn the steps that go into creating finished pieces like mugs, vases, and bowls. Weekly demonstrations will keep you motivated and be sure to bring your sense of humor. Fee includes 8 free drop-in sessions to be used by the end of the course. Students should leave all rings, watches, bracelets etc. at home and wear clothing appropriate to getting muddy.

Tired of winter – anticipating the joy of the Okanagan in the summer?
In this course we will explore the spontaneity and freedom that a simple lead pencil offers when drawing the landscape. In addition to instruction on the creative handling of the pencil, perspective and composition will also be discussed and practiced.



Have fun learning to play the electric keyboard during these one hour long, individual lessons. Quickly learn how to play melody with accompanying rhythm and chords together, while learning to choose and operate the features of the keyboard. Beginners or anyone interested in improving their skill is welcome. You will be surprised how easy and fun it is to play music on the electric keyboard! Sheet music is included in the class cost.



Pop, rock, country or blues, easy step by step instruction will have you playing your favorite songs in no time. Learn to read music and strum chords during these ½ hour long private lessons. Students are to bring their own guitar.



Working with F95 clay and using texture and underglazes you will create a fun and fanciful hand built fairy/bird house during this one day workshop. Students should bring an apron, 1 old bath towel and 1 large clear recycling bag.



Treasure nests are small felted pods that are made with wool. In a fun and creative atmosphere, students will learn how to use a resist to create a 3-dimensional treasure nest shape and surface design techniques to embellish it. Students should bring 2 large bath towels, 1 hand towel, 1 spray bottle, small natural dish soap, sharp scissors, sewing needles, beads to embellish your treasure nest, small bucket for your water/soap solution.

In this class students will use a 3 dimensional resist with many different layers to make a wet felted vessel. You will learn how to make craters, how to nuno felt, cracked effect, needle felting, prefelt and how to use it, embroidery on wool and ink on silk.



May 13th – Join us for a workshop in creating your own beautiful garden stepping stone! We’ll cover all the steps from start to finish, from glass cutting to the application process. Mosaic glass pieces are applied to create a colourful oceanscape/bird design on a 12” round concrete stone. No experience necessary!



Learn the core elements of drawing and develop the tools to make beautiful and interesting drawings. Working with pen, pencil, and charcoal, participants will explore a range of styles and approaches. Get the fundamentals down and use them to draw from life and photo references. This class is suitable for adult beginners and early intermediates that want to learn or improve their drawing skills.



During this workshop create paintings in acrylics on canvas. Paintings can be bright and bold or soft and misty depending on your taste.



This beginner’s level workshop introduces the art and science of glass beadmaking. Using a bead maker’s torch & rods of Italian glass, students will learn basic bead shapes, decorating techniques, use of hand tools, glass theory and safety. Students will go home with many glass beads they have made.



This interesting technique involves working on crumpled masa paper, gluing the result to conservation board and then finishing the images with some direct watercolour applications. The overall work has a very textural feel and is the result of the initial application of watercolour to the crumpled sheet. You will love the effects you can achieve! This workshop is a fun experience for all levels.

In this fun and informative beginner’s class, we will explore the basics of kiln fusing. Learn how to cut, grind, layer and fit glass as well as explore the medium using sheet glass, frits, stringers and noodles in your projects. Students may choose from molds at the Arts Centre or choose to make wall hanging pieces. No previous glass experience necessary. Students will return at a later date to pick up their fused pieces.



Join Nancy Vince and create happy doodle art. In this class she will show the progression of creating a piece from the pencil sketch to the finished artwork. Begin by creating your ideas in pencil, and then use a pen to work in the details and lastly add color to the art piece you create.



For most of us, drawing is an acquired skill which is improved with a better understanding of proportions, perspective and anatomy. Course includes easy to follow instructions to build a strong foundation.



This class is designed to introduce you to a technique other than the copper foil method and teaches you the basics of working with lead channel. Using a design chosen by the instructor, students will learn to how to construct a stained glass panel using lead came. Basic glass cutting, pattern preparation, reinforcing and finishing will also be covered.
